    Higher Education Award Nominees Sought 
 
    Deadline is Jan. 14

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-Nominees are being sought for the Presbyterian Church 
(U.S.A.) Higher Education Award, which each year honors a Presbyterian who 
has made a lasting contribution tot he church's mission in higher 
education. 
 
    The recipient of the annual award will be honored at the 212th General 
Assembly next June in Long Beach, Calif.  Four persons, chosen from among 
nominees who are not selected as the Higher Education Award winner, will be 
added to the Higher Education Honor Roll. 
 
    According to the Rev. Duncan Ferguson, associate director for the 
Higher Education Program Area in the National Ministries Division in 
Louisville, candidates must be living and their service to the churches 
higher education ministry must be distinguished, extensive and long-term. 
They must be involved in the life of the PC(USA) and their service must of 
national and/or international significance. 
 
    Nominations - together with two additional letters of support - must be 
sent by Jan. 14, 2000, to Ferguson at 100 Witherspoon Street, Room M040, 
Louisville, KY 40202.  Nominations will remain in the active file for three 
years.
