Fletcher Begins As Executive in Maine

 The Rev. Dr. Alfred J. Fletcher, former senior pastor 
of West Falmouth Baptist Church, Falmouth, Me., began Jan. 1 
as executive minister of the American Baptist Churches of 
Maine.
 The Rev. Dr. Foster E. Williams had served as interim 
executive minister in Maine for the past year following the 
retirement of Dr. Gary Johnson.
 Fletcher served the West Falmouth for the past ten 
years.  He previously held pastorates at First Baptist 
Church, Peabody, Mass., and (as associate/assistant pastor) 
Calvary Baptist Church, Lowell, Mass. 
 He holds the B.A. degree from Wheaton College, 
Wheaton, Ill., and the M.R.E. , M.Div. and D.Min. degrees 
from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, South Hamilton, 
Mass.
 The American Baptist Churches of Maine, one of 34 
regions within American Baptist Churches USA, includes 
approximately 168 churches and 15,900 resident members.
