from Hurricane Floyd
By Evan Silverstein
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - As a result of the generosity of Presbyterians across the
country, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) recently issued grants of
$140,000 to the Presbytery of Coastal Carolina and $200,000 to the

damaged by Hurricane Floyd.
The bulk of the money will be used to repair, rebuild, and furnish
flood-damaged homes, according to Stan Hankins, PDA's associate for U.S.
disaster response. With these grants, PDA's response to Hurricane Floyd
relief now totals $730,000, with contributions broken down as follows:
Presbytery of Coastal Carolina $300,000
Presbytery of New Hope $300,000
Synod of the Northeast $50,000
Presbytery of Tropical Florida $25,000

Tarboro, NC
NC Interfaith Disaster Response $15,000
