INDIANAPOLIS (DNS) -- The Rev. Ed Taylor of Indianapolis has been called
to the position of general consultant for Board of Church Extension (BCE)
of Disciples of Christ, beginning July 10.

Taylor is currently director of stewardship for Church Finance Council, a
unit of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). His primary
responsibilities at CFC include stewardship education, development of
stewardship resources, as well as interpretation and promotion of the
mission of the church.

"Ed will give primary attention to counseling congregations and regions
on their facility and capital needs," said the Rev. Eugene Randall, II,
corporate secretary of Board of Church Extension who leads the team of
general consultants.

"Ed brings to this position vast experience in consulting daily with a
wide variety of Disciples congregations," Randall noted. "His years of
ministry and understanding of stewardship and church management will be a
great blend of gifts as he assists congregations across North America with
their building and financing plans."

Prior to joining the CFC staff, Taylor served as pastor of First
Christian Church, Cedar Falls, Iowa.

He holds a doctor of ministry degree from Garrett-Evangelical Theological
Seminary in Evanston, Ill. He also holds a master of divinity degree from
Lexington (Ky.) Theological Seminary and a bachelor of science degree from
Western Illinois University, Macomb, Ill.

Taylor grew up in Gibson City, Ill., where he was ordained in the
community's First Christian Church in 1978. He and his wife Nancy are
members of Allisonville Christian Church in Indianapolis. The Taylors are
the parents of two daughters, Kate and Molly.
