INDIANAPOLIS (DNS) Bradley J. Herndon of Greenfield,
Ind., has been named the new chief financial officer and vice president
of
the Christian Church Foundation.

Herndon joined the foundation May 1 as a vice president, and will
assume his new duties as chief financial officer next spring when
Virginia
Spradlin retires. Spradlin has been with the foundation since 1983,
serving
in various capacities as she has led CCF's treasury and donor services
departments.

"The foundation next spring will lose a veteran staff member in
Ginny, creating a void because of her wealth of experience and
knowledge," said CCF President James Johnson. "However, in Brad I
believe the foundation has found an individual with the financial and
management experience that will provide for its continued success into
the
new millennium."

Herndon has nearly 20 years of experience in the investment and
banking business. He most recently was senior vice president and trust
officer with Ameriana Bank of Indiana. He also has held positions with
Kirr, Marbach & Company, LLC, National City and American National
Trust and Investment Co.

Johnson said the nearly one-year overlap of Spradlin and Herndon
will provide for a smooth transition, allowing Herndon an opportunity for
on-the-job training while giving Spradlin the chance to finish some long-
standing projects.

As chief financial officer and vice president, Herndon will be
responsible for the day-to-day operations of the donor services
department
and will serve as a resource person in the areas of planned giving and
investing.

Herndon has a master's of business administration degree from
the University of Indianapolis, and a bachelor of science from Indiana
State University, Terre Haute. He has been a chartered financial analyst
since 1986 and a chartered market technician since 1991.

A member of Greenfield Christian Church (Disciples of Christ),
Herndon is a past president of the Financial Analysts Society of
Indianapolis, education committee chair of the Market Technicians
Association and on the board of the Hancock Memorial Hospital
Foundation.

The Christian Church Foundation in 1999 distributed more than
$9.4 million to charitable causes of the Christian Church (Disciples of
Christ) and to individuals under life-income agreements. At the beginning
of 2000, the foundation managed $245.5 million in church assets.
