WILLIAM BARTLETT, RETIRED AMERICAN BAPTIST MISSIONARY, DIES
The Rev. William Bartlett, retired American Baptist
International Ministries missionary to South India and
Zaire, died May 20 at age 72.
Bartlett and his wife, Mary, served in South India
from 1955-1969. While there he was mission treasurer and

After returning to the U.S. to manage Michigan Baptist
Homes, the Bartletts resumed their missionary service in
1972 as houseparents for approximately 30 missionary
children in Kinshasa, Zaire (now Democratic Republic of
Congo).
Returning again to the U.S in 1980, William Bartlett
worked in the Business and Finance Division of American
Baptist International Ministries until his retirement in
1994.
Condolences may be sent to his wife and four children
