	Funeral services will be held for missionary on Sunday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) missionary in Pakistan has
died suddenly
 and his body is being returned to the United States for burial.

	The Rev. Donald Evert Daniels, 64, of McClellandtown, Pa.., died May 21 at
the Muree Christian School in Muree, Pakistan, where he and his wife,
Marjorie Newcomer Daniels, were in language classes, according to Michael
Dearruda, coordinator of mission personnel care in the Worldwide Ministries
Division.

	Dearruda said Daniels died in his sleep.

	The Daniels were posted in Pakistan less than one year ago; Daniels was
assigned as a professor of ethics and philosophy at the Gujranwala
Theological Seminary.  His wife was a professor of Christian education and
spiritual formation.

	The couple was partnered with the Presbyterian Church of Pakistan, through
the PC(USA)'s Worldwide Ministries Division.

	He was a minister-member of the Sierra Blanca Presbytery in Roswell, N.M.,
where he pastored the Mountain Ministry Parish, a group of three churches in
Carrizozo, in southeastern New Mexico.  From 1982-1994, Daniels was the
pastor of the McClellandtown Presbyterian Church in McClellandtown, Pa., and
also the minister of the Grace Chapel Presbyterian Church, nearby.

	Daniels was a 1957 graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C., with
a bachelor of arts degree.  He obtained a master of arts degree in 1962 from
Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., and a doctor of philosophy degree
in 1976 from the University of Georgia.

	Daniels received his master of divinity degree from Princeton Theological
Seminary, in Princeton, N.J.

	In addition to his wife, Daniels is survived by his stepson, Jason, and his
wife, Deborah Stoy; two grandsons, Garrett and Alex Stoy of McClellandtown;
and one brother, William Daniels of Lexington, Ky.

	Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 28, at the
McClellandtown Presbyterian Church in McClellandtown, Pa..  The Rev. Douglas
J. Essinger-Hileman will officiate.

	Friends will be received at the H. David McElroy Funeral Home in
McClellandtown from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, May 27.
