CARRIE BELL BROWN, FORMER HOME MISSIONARY, DIES
Word has been received of the death July 30 of the
Rev. Carrie Bell Brown, who served as an American Baptist
home missionary and executive director of the Dayton
Christian Center, Dayton, Ohio, from 1982 to 1999. Brown
had been ill for some time.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 1 p.m. Aug.
19 at First Baptist Church in Dayton. Brown was ordained
there in 1995.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dayton
Christian Center, 1352 W. Riverview Ave., Dayton, OH 45407.
Funds received in Brown's memory will be applied toward the
renovation of the Center's library, to be named in her
honor.
A meeting room at Kern Lodge at the Green Lake

long and faithful missionary service.
Brown also served at Friendship House in Peoria, Ill.,
