YAO RESIGNS AS ANALYST/DIRECTOR 
OF AMERICAN BAPTIST INFORMATION SYSTEMS
 Pin Yao, analyst/director of American Baptist 
Information Systems, has announced her resignation, 
effective Aug. 31.
 Following a General Board vote to lodge the former 
Congregational Profile System in the Office of the General 
Secretary, Yao was named director of the new American 
Baptist Information Systems in 1997.  In that role she has 
provided leadership for American Baptist Churches USA in the 
transition from a stand-alone database in the Mission Center 
here to a region-based system.  She has led the 14-month 
rewrite and implementation of a new integrated Web-based 
application for both denominational statistics and 
accounting for American Baptist Mission Support. 
 Yao, a native of China, joined the American Baptist 
Mission Support staff in 1994 as director of budget and 
analysis.
 Commenting on Yao's contributions, American Baptist 
Churches USA Associate General Secretary and Treasurer Dr. 
Cheryl H. Wade said, " During an extremely difficult period 
of time she has led a transition that has resulted in vastly 
improved database and accounting capabilities for both regions
and the Mission Center in Valley Forge.  We are now able to 
share real-time, online denominational statistics and accounting.  
Pin has been a superb leader and an exemplar of servant ministry."
