Mennonite Media establishes presence in Canada

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (MBM/Mennonite Church Canada) – Burton Buller,

executive director of Mennonite Media (Harrisonburg, Va.), will
work out of an office at Mennonite Church Canada headquarters in
Winnipeg (600 Shaftesbury Boulevard) on a part-time basis,
starting immediately.

In a brief presentation to Mennonite Church Canada staff at a
welcome event, Buller noted that he is seeking to establish a
stronger connection between Mennonite Media and the stories of
Canadian Mennonites. Buller said he hopes that spending an
average of two days a week at Mennonite Church Canada offices
will help him network with others, identify communication needs
that can be met by the electronic media, and cultivate the
creative process.

Dan Nighswander, Mennonite Church Canada general secretary, is
buoyed by the move. “Mennonite Media hosts the popular Third Way
Café (www.thirdway.com) web site and produced the recent missions

video for all of the mission agencies,” Nighswander said. “They
are good at what they do. I’m looking forward to the
possibilities of forging some new paths of partnership with a
media producer who carries the Anabaptist vision and
perspective.”

Buller, formerly of MB Communications in Winnipeg, was appointed
to the new post in August 1999. Mennonite Media is a department
of Mennonite Board of Missions.
