Holiday fare warms the season on Odyssey Network

Three Faith and Values programs featured on religious cable network

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Three award-winning programs will provide colorful
interpretations of Christmas and other cultural and religious holiday
traditions this month on the Odyssey Network.

	Celebrities from stage and film will be featured in the three programs
produced by Faith and Values Media, a service of the National Interfaith
Cable Coalition, of which the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is a charter
member.

	Lighting the Way, a multicultural program which documents the holiday
celebrations of Kwanzaa, La Posada, Hanukkah and Christmas as seen through
the eyes of children, airs Dec. 19 at 9:30 a.m. and again Dec. 20 at 2:00
a.m. (Eastern and Pacific).  Each of the four segments tells the history of
the holiday and explains family customs associated with each holiday.

	Just in Time for Christmas, a musical-variety show about a lonely orphan
boy who befriends a zany musician and discovers the true meaning of
Christmas, is featured in a one-hour special Dec. 24 at 11:00 a.m. (Eastern
and Pacific). The one-hour special was produced by the Lutheran
Church-Missouri Synod.

	An American Christmas, tells the Christmas story through a group of
children preparing for their annual holiday pageant. The one-hour program
offers real-life vignettes and music from different cultures and traditions
that include sounds from New York City streets, images from Native American
folk art and a Posada celebration in San Antonio, Texas. Produced by the
United Church of Christ, the National Council of Churches and Faith &
Values, the show will air Dec. 27 at 9:30 a.m. and Dec. 28 at 2:00 a.m.,
Eastern and Pacific.
