AIDS Awareness Campaign Reaches 1.2 Million in Malawi
Silver Spring, Maryland, USA ... [ANN]

An AIDS awareness campaign run by the Adventist Development and Relief
Agency (ADRA) in Malawi is reaching over a million people in the fight
against the spread of HIV/AIDS. Over the past 12 years, 1,500 ADRA
volunteers have presented "lifesaving strategies" through music and drama to
raise awareness about HIV/AIDS.

ADRA Malawi, in addition to these presentations, has distributed 800,000
school notebooks with AIDS prevention messages imprinted on them. ADRA has
also organized AIDS education clubs in more than 350 schools to teach
members how to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and to dispel myths about the
disease. [ADRA Staff]
