ST. LOUIS (DNS) -- The publishing house of the Christian Church (Disciples
of Christ) has developed a new outlet for the release of books and
resources for Christian education, church life and faith, and spiritual
development in the congregation.

Living Bread Press will provide resources that congregations, Christian
educators, ministers and volunteer leaders can use in small group study,
Christian education settings and daily congregational life.

"Living Bread Press will bring together the expertise of practitioners and
authors who will share their passion for ministry and provide new
approaches to spiritual growth," says Cyrus N. White, CBP president and
publisher.

The Rev. Kamila Blessing has been named as editor-in-chief of Living Bread
Press. She currently is a vice president and director of the congregational
ministries division at Christian Board of Publication. Blessing, an
Episcopal priest, has a doctor of philosophy degree from Duke University,
Durham, N.C., and has served in numerous capacities in congregations.

The publishing board's current outlet, Chalice Press, "is alive and well
and will continue to live in St. Louis," said Barbara Derington, chief
promotional writer. "Living Bread is an additional imprint of CBP, a
complement, not a replacement."

Living Bread Press will introduce books and resources in the summer of
2001.
