Morse named director of New Church Establishment

	INDIANAPOLIS (DNS) – The Rev. Rick Morse, minister of Lake Washington
Christian Church, Kirkland, Wash., will become director of New Congregation
Establishment March 1.

	His new responsibilities will include assisting regions and congregations
in the establishment of new churches as well as supporting the pastors and
members of those churches.

	"Rick has faithfully pastored a new congregation as well as worked as a
regional partner in supporting other new church starts," said the Rev.
James L. Powell, president of Board of Church Extension. "He is wonderfully
creative and deeply committed to starting new congregations."

	Morse holds a bachelor of arts degree from Whitworth College in Spokane,
Wash. He also holds master of divinity and doctor of ministry degrees from
San Francisco Theological Seminary.

	He was ordained in 1980 at North Hill Christian Church in Spokane.  He has
served pastorates at First Christian Church, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; San
Lorenzo (Calif.) Community Church; North Hill Christian Church, Spokane;
and United Ministries in Seattle.

	Currently, Morse serves on the Administrative Committee of the General
Board of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and on the Northwest
regional board.  He currently chairs the region's church development
committee.

	Morse and his wife have three children.
