DECATUR, IL -- Millikin University has one of the top educational programs
in the nation, according to the Association of American Colleges and
Universities (AAC&U), which has awarded Millikin a Special Commendation for
Distinguished Achievement in undergraduate education. The association set
out to find colleges and universities that provide the most stimulating
educational experiences.

DANVILLE, KY -- Centre College has honored Churchill Downs Incorporated with
its annual Associate of the Year award. Thomas H. Meeker, the company's
president and CEO, accepted the award during a black-tie dinner in
Louisville on Jan. 26. CDI was honored for its commitment to community
service, leadership in the horseracing industry and success in corporate

CHAMBERSBURG, PA -- During spring convocation at Wilson College on Jan.18,
it was announced that Lorna Duphiney Edmundson will become the college's
18th president on June 30. Edmundson, now the president of the Association
of Vermont Independent Colleges (AVIC), is replacing Wilson President
Gwendolyn Evans Jensen.

ELKINS, WV -- Presbyterian-related Davis & Elkins College announced recently
that it will be part of an innovative joint venture in computing operations
that will also involve Alderson-Broaddus College, West Virginia Wesleyan
College, the University of Charleston and Emory & Henry College. The
collaboration, ICE (Independent College Enterprise), will allow member
institutions to share a common computing system at a substantial cost
savings. The project will be housed in a computing center on the campus of
the University of Charleston.
