The Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Haggray, who most recently

Church in Washington, D.C., has been named executive
director/minister of the District of Columbia Baptist

Haggray was elected by the DCBC Executive
Board last month and will assume his new duties Aug. 1,
2001. Dr. Duncan McIntosh has served as interim
executive since the retirement of Dr. Jere Allen at the end
of last year.
Haggray previously was pastor of the Mt. Gilead
Baptist Church from 1992-1999. He also has been an
educational consultant, community activist and social
services administrator.
He has been active in the Council of Churches of
Greater Washington DC, the Baptist House at Wesley
Theological Seminary and the Baptist Joint Committee on
Public Affairs.
Haggray holds degrees from the University of
Virginia, Yale Divinity School and Wesley Theological

The Rev. Lynn Bergfalk, search committee chair,
noted that Haggray's "energy and vision will provide
strong leadership as the DCBC begins a new century of
ministry."
