Church Extension executive called to new role for Disciples of Christ

   INDIANAPOLIS (DNS) - Erick D. Reisinger has been named executive vice 
president and treasurer of Church  Extension of Disciplesof Christ, 
headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind.  Reisinger was named treasurer, 
following the resignation of James P. Hamlett, former chief financial 
officer and treasurer of Church Extension. Hamlett has
been named vice president/president-elect of the Disciples Pension Fund.

According to James L. Powell, president of Church Extension, Reisinger will 
assume prime responsibility for Church Extension's financial and investment 
operations.

Reisinger joined Church Extension staff in 1976 following graduation from 
Culver-Stockton College. He has held various treasury officer positions 
throughout this time.  In 1993, he was promoted to vice president and 
secretary and in 1995 was named executive vice president,chief operating 
officer and secretary.

"Staff and directors are thrilled that Reisinger agreed to take on this 
important responsibility. His financial knowledge coupled with the fact 
that he has served Church Extension for 28 years gives us all great comfort 
in knowing that the financial and investment operations will continue to be 
managed in an exceptional way," added Powell.
