HENRY BROOKS, NOTED AMERICAN BAPTIST 
EDUCATOR AND PASTOR, DIES
 The Rev. Dr. Henry C. Brooks, professor of 
psychology and clinical studies at Andover Newton 
Theological School in Newton Centre, Mass., for 37 years, 
died Aug. 17 at his home in Media, Pa.  He was 72.
 Brooks, an ordained American Baptist minister, 
served at the seminary from 1958 until his retirement in 
1995.  He directed the school's clinical pastoral education 
program, overseeing during his career more than 1,000 
students in counseling and family crisis intervention.  He 
also was chaplain for 30 years at Boston City Hospital, 
where many of his students gained field experience in 
clinical work.
 Brooks was active in American Baptist Churches 
USA, with long service on the denomination's General 
Board and The Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board.
 He was a graduate of Storer College, Andover 
Newton and Boston University.
 Condolences for his wife, Aeolus, and family may 
be sent to 115 Palmers Mill Rd., Media, PA 19063-1037.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. 
Thursday, Aug. 23, at Central Baptist Church, 106 W. 
Lancaster Ave., Wayne, Pa.
