Church of Sweden commemorates victims of terrorist attack

The morning Mass in Uppsala Cathedral (the National Cathedral) September12
was a requiem Mass and the participants were invited to light candles and to
sign a book of condolences to the American people. In the early morning the
Archbishop did a morning prayer in radio and spoke on national TV on the
eruption of evil in peoples hearts and on reconciliation.

Uppsala Cathedral invites people of different faiths to a manifestation
against terrorism and violence tonight.

The Cathedral of Stockholm celebrated an evening service yesterday in the
presence of the Royal Family and the Prime minister, Mr Gvran Persson. In
all major cities in commemoration of the victims services have been
celebrated or are planned for the weekend.
