New Sunday school lessons for children, adults ready for use this Sunday

by Jerry L. Van Marter

LOUISVILLE - Officials in the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program and the
Office of Theology, Worship and Discipleship have prepared new lesson plans
for adult and children's church school classes continuing to struggle with
the aftermath of Sept. 11's horrific terrorist attacks on New York and
Washington.

The two offices in the Congregational Ministries Division worked feverishly
this week so the lesson plans would be available for congregations this
Sunday.

Both lesson plans are available on the Presbyterian Church (USA) crisis
website at www.pcusa.org\crisis.

The study session for adults is entitled Hope from the Lord. It includes
suggested scripture lessons and questions for discussion.

The lesson plan for children, Peacemaking with Children, includes a variety
of activities designed to help children explore how God has created them all
different and how to embrace those differences. Activities include games,
artwork, Bible reading and the reading of the renowned children's book, Old
Turtle by Douglas Wood.
