LCMS Web site offers
resources, audio interviews

The Web site of The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod offers a number of
resources and audio interviews relating to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Resources available online include:

* suggested prayers and prayer requests.

* devotions for individuals, families, congregations, Sunday schools and day
schools.

* a Bible study titled "A Christian Response to Terrorism and Crisis."

* documents on coping with trauma, caring for others and talking about the
tragedy with children and teenagers.

* a chapel homily and other items designed to assist pastors.

Visitors to the site also can hear interviews recorded on KFUO-AM Radio, the
St. Louis-based radio station owned and operated by The Lutheran
Church--Missouri Synod, including:

* a 16-minute interview with LCMS President Gerald B. Kieschnick in which he
describes his meeting with President George W. Bush and his visit to the
demolished World Trade Center in New York.

* an eyewitness report on relief efforts in New York City from Dr. David
Benke, president of the Missouri Synod's Atlantic District.

* comments from Dr. Dale Meyer, former speaker of "The Lutheran Hour" radio
program and current host of "On Main Street," a cable-television show
produced by Lutheran Hour Ministries.
