BAPTIST WORLD ALLIANCE CONFERENCE
`EVANGELISM AND THE PEACE
WITNESS OF THE CHURCH' TO BRING BAPTISTS
AND MENNONITES TOGETHER
"Evangelism and the Peace Witness of the
Church," a conference developed by the Baptist World
Alliance, will bring together Baptists and Mennonites to
continue a dialog begun a decade ago on issues
surrounding peace, evangelism and mission.
The conference is set for Jan. 10-12, 2002 at
American Baptist-related Eastern College in St. Davids, Pa.
Among prominent American Baptists involved in the
planning and program are Drs. Robert Roberts, John
Sundquist, Wallace Charles Smith, Donna Hailson, Richard
Pierard, Ian Chapman, Ken Sehested and William
Brackney.
According to Tony Cupit, Baptist World Alliance
director of Evangelism and Education, "We hope to learn
something about the Mennonite emphasis on issues to do
with peace and hopefully contribute something to the
Mennonites, at their request, about mission and
evangelism."
Information about the program and registration is
available from Baptist World Alliance, Evangelism and
Education, 405 North Washington St., Falls Church, VA
22046; phone: (703)790-8980; fax: (703)893-5160; e-
mail: bwa@bwanet.org; Web: www.bwanet.org.
