NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMNS) - The new 590-page Korean-English hymnal, Come, Let
Us Worship, will be introduced at a worship and music conference in Los
Angeles Jan. 21-23.

The event at Wilshire United Methodist Church will be the first time that
clergy and lay people from the Korean United Methodist Church and the Korean
Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) will have met for an event of this type
featuring new hymns and music technology, according to the hymnal's editor,
the Rev. Dal Joon Won, with the United Methodist Publishing House.

The Publishing House will release the hymnal in mid-November. A joint
committee representing the two denominations created the book. Each
denomination will have a version of the hymnal with its own worship
resources, but both versions will have the same hymns.

The Rev. Keun Won Park, professor of Hanshin Seminary, Seoul, will lead a
session on "Celebrating Korean Styles in the Hymnal." The Rev. Heather
Murray Elkins, a professor at Drew University in Madison, N.J., will lead
"Celebrating Creative and Contemporary Styles in the Hymnal"; and the Rev.
C. Michael Hawn, professor at Perkins School of Theology at Southern
Methodist University in Dallas, will lead a session on "Celebrating Global
Styles in the Hymnal."

Workshop topics will include:
7	Creative worship (Elkins and the Rev. Keun Ae Lee, pastor of Korean
United Methodist Church and Institute in New York City).
7	Bilingual worship (the Rev. Daniel Shin, pastor of Bell Memorial
United Methodist Church in Rowland Heights, Calif.).
7	Praise worship using the new hymnal (Jino Park, music leader of
United Presbyterian Church in Atlanta).
7	Worship resources in the new hymnal (the Rev. Dan Benedict, a staff
member of the Board of Discipleship in Nashville, and the Rev. Paul Huh,
Bethany Presbyterian Church in Bloomfield, N.J.).
7	Music ministry and technology (Manh Hee Kang, professor of the
Baptist Theological Seminary in Daejun, Korea).

Participants should make their own reservations in one of three hotels
