by Jerry L. Van Marter

LOUISVILLE - Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary will be the site
of a March 22-23 symposium on the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s ministry
with children.

The symposium, entitled Children at Risk - Hope for the Future, is designed
for pastors, counselors, teachers, caregivers and all those interested in
the church's ministry with children and will include keynote speakers,
workshops, worship and periods of reflection.

Keynote speakers are the Rev. Eileen Lindner, deputy general secretary of
the National Council of Churches, and the Rev. John Mulder, president of
Louisville Seminary.

Workshops will address such topics as how caregivers can take care of
themselves, nurturing resilience in children, teaching the Bible to children
and teaching them how to pray, preventing domestic violence and ministries
with stepfamilies.

For more information, contact Laura March at the seminary's Center for
Congregations and Family Ministries by phone at 800-264-1839 or by email at
