Resources for women's Sunday still available

Special observance is March 10

by Jerry L. Van Marter

LOUISVILLE - A special resource for congregations to observe Celebrate the
Gifts of Women Sunday is still available. The observance will take place
March 10.

The day is set aside for two reasons: to celebrate and honor individual
women who contribute their gifts to the church and community, and to lift up
issues of women's rights in this country and around the world.

The 1993 General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) set aside the
Sunday closest to March 8 - International Women's Day - as the church's
special day to celebrate the gifts of women.

The resource, written by Dale Lindsay Morgan, was included in the
November/December issue of HORIZONS magazine and is also available free by
calling Presbyterian Distribution Service at 800-524-2612. Ask for product
number 72-700-02-001.

The resource includes liturgical resources, background material on the
theme and program suggestions and activities for ways to observe the
occasion.
