AMERICAN BAPTIST NEW LIFE YOUTH MEDIA
PROJECTS ANNOUNCED
 National Ministries of American Baptist Churches
USA has announced the seeding of additional American
Baptist New Life Youth Media Projects beginning this
month. The evangelism and empowerment projects
introduce youth to the power of narrative--God's story and
personal connections to it--through a training program
that includes Bible study, media exploration and digital
filmmaking. The new Youth Media projects have each
received a start-up grant from National Ministries through
NEW LIFE 2010.
 Currently the new projects include: American
Baptist Youth/American Baptist Churches of Greater
Indianapolis-Indiana and Kentucky, Indianapolis, Ind.;
Camp Arrah Wanna and New Life Slavic/American
Partnership Committee, Welches, Ore.; Congregaci"n Le"n
de Jud , Boston, Mass.; Detroit Friendship House Inc.,
Hamtramck, Mich.; Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot, N.D.;
Neighborhood Ministries, Campbell, Ohio.
 Both American Baptist and community youth are
recruited for the projects, which agree to produce at least
one 15-minute video newsmagazine about NEW LIFE 2010
regional initiatives in their areas for national distribution or
Webcasting in 2002. National Ministries provides a
specially designed curriculum for the projects and
development and technical support during the start up
period. The consultant for the project is Signal Hill.
 "We're delighted with the response we've had to
this project," said Dr. Aidsand F. Wright-Riggins III,
National Ministries' executive director. "American Baptists
are making new life happen and these youth--and their
leaders--are part of that story."
 New Life Youth Media was piloted last year by
Curtis Park Community Center, Denver, Colo. (For more
information visit www.newlife2010.org/YouthMedia).
 NEW LIFE 2010 is the denominational emphasis to
plant 1,010 new churches, welcome 1,000,010 new
disciples and vitalize a multitude of caring ministries,
transforming the denomination by the year 2010.
