    It sings better in Chinese than it looks in English, this song,
the favorite of Hwang Ting wei.  She sings it in her own dark
valley.  It gives her joy and strength as it testifies to the
unchanging love of God that she also expresses in her
uninhibited paintings.
    The chaplain's department of Mackay Memorial Hospital
in Taipei, an agency of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan,
recently held a show of Ms. Hwang's paintings in
its "gospel square".  The show, entitled, "God Hasn't Let Me
Down" is testimony to the strength of her faith, and its joy
has moved many people who have come to see it.
     Ting-wei has suffered at least two internal organ failure critical
events in her short life.  Before these she was a lively and normal
little girl.  Though she has undergone chemotherapy with
all its discomfort, she has not lost faith.  She comes and goes
from the hospital full of the love of God.  Her baptism was
a personal choice to become known as a child of God.
    Hospital Chaplain, the Rev. Ms. Lin Mei-ling, said, "In both
of Ting-wei 's medical crises the medical and nursing staff
joined the chaplain's office in prayer for her.  We pray that
she will have strength and that God will give her a remission
so that she can return to a life more normal for a child."
    Ting-wei's mother added, "Each day before she sleeps we
pray together. She is full of thanks for the good day God has
given her."
