Conference focus: links between faith and knowledge

by Jerry L. Van Marter

LOUISVILLE - Connections between faith and knowledge will be examined at the annual Critical Issues in Higher Education Conference, which is scheduled for July 15-21 at Ghost Ranch Conference Center in New Mexico.

The event's theme is "The Integration of Faith and Knowledge; or, Can We Believe and Think At the Same Time?" Participants will examine how personal faith and belief shape and are shaped by the learning experience.

The conference, co-sponsored by Ghost Ranch and the Higher Education Program Area of the National Ministries Division, brings together students, campus ministers, pastors and chaplains, faculty, administrators and middle-governing-body staff and elected persons with responsibilities for the Presbyterian Church (USA)'s ministries in higher education.

The cost is $65 plus room and board. For information, contact Bob Turner in the Higher Education Ministries office by phone at 888-728-7228, ext. 5765, or visit the office Web site at www.pcusa.org/highered.
