EVENTS OF SEPTEMBER 11TH DOMINATE PAST YEAR

New York ? The 2002 Yearbook of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese will be
available February 15th. A special section is devoted to the tragic events
of September 11th,which impacted the lives of all Americans, and
specifically the Greek Orthodox community which lost several individuals
and the completely destroyed St. Nicholas Church.

Archbishop Demetrios in his prologue says: "We left behind a year marked by
a horrendous event, a year shadowed by the September 11th explosion of
darkness and evil. At the very same time, however, we vividly experience
the brilliance of an unprecedented generosity of hearts and minds, an
explosion of light and goodness, an unconditional offering of all kinds of
help and support." And in conclusion:" May the Lord help us as Omogenia
and Church in achieving faithfully our sacred mission in contemporary
America. May He make the year 2002 a year of glory of an offering that
excludes no one, that has no limitations ? a year of the triumph of the
generosity of hearts and minds."
