Tainan Presbytery Ordains Three Ministers in One Day

On Sunday March 17th fifteen hundred people gathered in
the assembly hall of Sin Lau Christian Hospital to ordain three
evangelists to the office of Minister of Word and Sacrament in
the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan. Tainan Presbytery Moderator
Lim Chong-cheng presided over the ceremony. He commissioned the
new clergy to go to the whole world and preach the gospel. Their
starting off points are the churches that have called them to be
ministers.
The Rev. Chen You-sheng will serve Wan Rong Hwa
Presbyterian Church, Rev. Li Su-chin goes to Siau Pei Road
Presbyterian Church, and Rev. Chai Chu-chie will be installed at
Tong Kwang Presbyterian Church.
Rev. Lim charged the new ordinands from the fourth Gospel,
chapter 17:20-26 saying that the church must follow Christ, then
it can be blessed of God. This sort of unity also is true
unity. He also said, Spiritual renewal must come from within the
church. If the church is to be renewed, it must include the
clergy, to lead church members and other believers in spiritual
life renewal. Rev. Lin challenged all the clergy of the
presbytery to encourage each other, hoping that the newest fire
of church renewal in Taiwan will begin in Tainan Presbytery.
"Love and renewed lives," he said, "then can lead the people to
turn to God."
