Easter Sunday Quake Rocks Taiwan

  At 2:52 PM on Easter Sunday (1:52AM Eastern Standard time) an
  earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale struck 40
kilometers off the East Coast of Taiwan.  A construction crane fell from 
the 52nd
  story level of a skyscraper under  construction in Taipei City, killing 
five and injuring 20.

  Nationwide 253 persons were reported injured.

  The Presbyterian Church in Taiwan reported no damage to
  churches or church members.

Reformed Church in America Missionary Judy Estell, who lives
  in Hualien, the city nearest to the quake's epicenter, said that
  the quake went on for a long time. Power and water were off line
  in some parts of the city, but there was no severe damage.
