New York--The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Internet Ministries
is pleased to announce the availability of a new website dedicated to the
observance of Great and Holy Lent at http://www.goarch.org/lent. This site
currently offers a number of Lenten resources for both Clergy and Laity
including:

7    Lenten encyclicals and addresses by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios
and SCOBA, the Standing Conference of the Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the
Americas

7    Numerous articles including an explanation on how the date of Easter is
determined, fasting, a guide to each day in Holy Week, and recommended
Lenten reading

7    A growing list of sermons from clergy and theologians

7    A listing of the daily bible readings for Great Lent

7    Lenten prayers and services

7    A rich multimedia section featuring services from Great Lent and Holy
Week

7    Electronic greeting cards for the Lenten season.

The purpose of this site is to provide Orthodox Christians with a rich
variety of pastoral resources, services, and multimedia programming. This
site will be continually updated during Great Lent.
