Ecumenical Peace Pilgrimage in Israel-Palestine

JERUSALEM, April 4, 2002-- Pax Christi International, the International 
Fellowship of Reconciliation and a network of non-violent communities have 
organized an ecumenical peace pilgrimage to take place in Israel  Palestine 
from April 8-15, 2002 at the invitation from Christian churches of Jerusalem 
and from Israeli andPalestinian peace and human rights groups. 

Deeply concerned about the tragic situation marked by violence and suffering 
of the Palestinian and Israeli people, the pilgrimage will be a sign of 
solidarity, encouragement and hope.

The delegation includes: Fr. Paul Lansu (Pax Christi International), 
Hildegard
Goss-Mayr (International Fellowship of Reconciliation), Soeur Minke of
Grandchamp for religious communities and ecumenical aspects, Clemens
Ronnefeldt for the German-speaking and Christian Renoux for the
French-speaking pilgrims.

To support this initiative, we invite you to take part in the chain of prayer
and light from April 8-15, 2002

We invite you to 

** Light each evening for eight days, two candles or lights at your windows 
as a sign of solidarity with this peace initiative: one for the Palestinians 
and
one for the Israelis.

** To choose one or more days to pray especially for this intention.
