1) The events of September 11 left many Americans
asking how such atrocities could be perpetrated in
the name of religion: specifically, Islam. On
Thursday, May 9, 9 P.M. on PBS (check local listings),
FRONTLINE and the Independent Production Fund present
"Muslims," a two-hour examination of one of the fastest
growing religions in the world today. Through the lives
of Muslims from Egypt, Iran, Malaysia, Turkey, Nigeria,
and the United States, "Muslims" illuminates the
diverse interpretations of Islam and the many facets
of its worldwide resurgence.
Visit the "Muslims" web site for extended coverage, at
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/muslims/

2) Join representatives of NAIN member organizations,
religious and lay leaders, interfaith organizers,
social, political and environmental advocates & others
at RETURNING TO THE PRAIRIE: Roots and Vision,
celebrating the 15th anniversary of NAIN's first
conference. In 1988, 350 members of world religions
gathered in Wichita. From that event, North American
Interfaith Network was born. Now we return to discover
a faith-driven vision for our world's future.
NAINConnect'02 will be hosted by Inter-Faith Ministries
in Wichita, Kansas, at Newman University from August
3rd- 6th. For details and registration, visit:
http://www.nain.org/info/Connect2002.htm

3) Visit NAINet, the web site of the network.
It offers a Directory of our Member Organizations, a
list of the Board of Directors, scholarship information
for Young Adults to attend NAINConnect'02, annotated
selections of Interfaith and Religious Studies
web sites, archives of NAIN's newsletters, and more
at www.nain.org .

4) There's also a selection of longer essays and
articles on the web site, including:
"Arson at a Sikh Shrine," by Ralph Singh;
"Reflections on The Talking Circle: A Model for
Dialogue," by the Rev. Bruce Gregersen; and
"Golden Rules (at the UN) for a Culture of Peace,"
by Joel Beversluis.
