Pittsburgh Steelers coach to address GA media lunch

by Jerry L. Van Marter

PITTSBURGH - Anthony G. Griggs, Coordinator of Player Development and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL), will be the featured speaker of the 2002 General Assembly Media Luncheon, sponsored by the Presbyterian Media Mission here.

The luncheon will be held Sunday, June 16, during the Assembly in Columbus, OH.

Anthony Griggs - "AG" - has been with the Pittsburgh Steelers for eight years, following a seven-year playing career. His concern for personal development of athletes has lead him to form the AG Foundation, a non-profit devoted to assisting student/athletes in life management skills in addition to athletic training. AG will speak on the relationship between sports and entertainment in popular culture while addressing the important life lessons he has learned on and off the field.

AG will also tell his story on the PASSAGES Radio Network this July. PASSAGES is an award-winning radio program of voice-actual interviews and music heard by millions each week. In 1995, the 207th General Assembly recognized PASSAGES as an
"officially syndicated radio program of the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A." PMM and United Methodist Communications of Nashville, TN produce the program jointly.
