by Jerry L. Van Marter

LOUISVILLE - Sara Little, emerita professor of Christian education at Union Theological Seminary/Presbyterian School of Christian Education, has been named recipient of the 2002 Award for Excellence in Theological Education of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Presented by the denomination's Committee on Theological Education, the award honors Little's career of more than 40 years as an educator in the PC(USA).

A 1944 graduate of PSCE, Little taught Christian education at her alma mater for 25 years before moving across the street to Union seminary, where she taught until her retirement in 1989.
During the upcoming 214th General Assembly, Little will speak to the Assembly Committee on Theological Issues and Educational Institutions and will be honored at a number of other events.
