ABCUSA: 'Xtreme Teams' at Work in Costa Rica, India, Latvia

American Baptist News Service (7/15/02)--American Baptist International
Ministries has announced that Xtreme Teams have begun mission experiences in
Costa Rica, India and Latvia.  

Xtreme Teams are designed with a three-fold purpose: to connect generation X
with the global mission of American Baptists, to ignite a passion and
interest in missions, and to cultivate global mission leadership for the
future.

The teams, each comprised of five to eight young adults, began their
experiences July 1 with a one-week orientation at Judson College in Elgin,
Ill. and will end them in early August at the World Mission Conference in
Green Lake, Wis.  Daily updates by the teams are accessible on the Xtreme
Team Web site--www.xtremeteamonline.org.

Julie Brown and Rhonda Legler, members of a previous Xtreme team, have
returned in leadership roles.  Members and leaders for the 2002 teams
