The Rev. Dr. W. Donald Harris, 92, of Charlotte, N.C., died June 5 at the Southminster Healthcare Center. A graduate of Trinity University and Princeton Seminary, Harris served six pastorates in Texas before he was named director of Spanish-speaking missions of the UPUSA's Board of National Missions in 1961. He retired from the Board in 1974, after which he was the interim pastor of Westpark Presbyterian Church in New York City and pastor of visitation at the Hitchcock Presbyterian Church in Scarsdale, NY. The Harris' moved to Charlotte in 1997. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Anne Kimble Harris, and two children. Harris was born in Puerto Rico, where his parents, the late Eunice White and the Rev. J. Will Harris, served as missionaries and founded the InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico.

Katherine Yonker Gill, wife of Theodore A. Gill who served as president of San Francisco Theological Seminary from 1958 to 1966, died in her sleep at the age of 82 on July 4, 2002. Her death, which came suddenly and unexpectedly, took place in the couple's home in Princeton, New Jersey.

Born in St. Joseph, Missouri and a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Katie Yonker met Ted Gill when they were both serving on the staff of a Presbyterian congregation in New Rochelle, New York. Over the years, they would live in such cities as Zurich, Geneva, New York, Chicago, and Detroit.

As president of San Francisco Theological Seminary, Ted Gill challenged the Seminary in such crucial areas as academic excellence, civil rights, responsiveness to cultural trends, and the integration of theology and the arts. It is with great respect and appreciation for Ted Gill's remarkable contribution to the Seminary that we offer our condolences to the family.

Katie Gill is survived by her husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Donald Keeran of Brewster, Massachusetts; a son and daughter-in-law, Theo and Ruth Ann Gill of Geneva, Switzerland; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Katherine Gill of Durham, North Carolina.
