American Baptist News Service (8/19/02)--Dr. Robert M. Franklin Jr. has
announced his resignation as president of the Interdenominational
Theological Center in Atlanta, Ga., effective Dec. 31, 2002.

Franklin, who has led the center for five years, is recuperating from a

During his tenure ITC has secured reaffirmation of its accreditation,
established new public service programs for training for faith-based
institutions in HIV-AIDS prevention, diversified its funding sources and
witnessed an increase in the size of its student body, among other
accomplishments.

ITC is a consortium of six Christian seminaries, including Morehouse School
