The Youth Ministries Office at the General Assembly of the
Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) will sponsor a two-day
conference on Youth Counseling at Chang Jung College of
Management in Tainan County on August 31 and September 1. The
conference, entitled "Creative Counseling Crisis Situations" was
designed to respond to the needs of youth leaders in churches,
schools and para-church agencies.
The main goal is to help youth group sponsors and leaders to
know how to apply their faith in guiding young people to
establish values. This will be approached through introduction
to curricula and techniques which enable young people and their
counselors to discuss faith issues. Creative ideas for local
groups will be modeled and taught. Creativity and wisdom are
considered vital if the faith of the leaders is to be shared with
and imparted to young people in modern Taiwan.
    Separate workshops will be offered in: Youth Group Counseling;
The Ethos of Youth Group Counseling; Relating to Clergy and other
Church Officers; and The Important Aspects of Adolescence.
Conference maximum enrollment is 80 participants, who will be
divided into groups no larger than 8 for discussion. Cost is
1,500 Taiwan Yuan. Enroll by phone to (02) 2362 5282 ext. 237 or
by e-mail to youth@ms2.pct.org.tw.
