INDIANAPOLIS, October 28, 2002 -- Donald B. Manworren has been named
Interim Regional Minister for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
in the Southwest.

In early 2002, Manworren retired as associate general minister for
administration in the Office of General Minister and President. In this
role Manworren was general manager of the General Assembly of the
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) as well as manager and
facilitator of numerous boards, committees and groups.	His deep love of
the church and passion for Christian unity, justice and reconciliation
enable him to be an effective leader.

In addition to his work in the general church, Manworren served as
executive coordinator for the Iowa Inter-Church Forum (Des Moines,
Iowa), and Iowa pastorates in Waterloo, Urbandale, Keota, and student
pastorates in Melbourne and Alburnett.

Manworren will begin his new position Nov. 1, 2002.

Manworren has a B.A. and B.D. from Drake University (Des Moines, Iowa),
and StM from Yale University Divinity School (New Haven, Conn.). He has
also received honorary Doctor of Divinity degrees from Drake University
and Bethany (W. Va.) College.

He and his wife Elaine live in Plano, Texas. They have 3 children.
