Local-arrangements panel for GA is planning a church-door poster

By Pamela Wineman
Committee on Local Arrangements, 215th General Assembly (2003)

DENVER - The Committee on Local Arrangements (COLA) for the 2003 General
Assembly in Denver is seeking photogenic church doors.

The committee wants to produce a poster depicting unique church doors from
around the country. The product will be reminiscent of the popular Santa Fe
door posters showing doors from that New Mexico community.

The church-door poster will be on sale at the Assembly and through the Denver
local-arrangements committee's Web site.

The 2003 Assembly's theme is "A House of Prayer for All Peoples," a reference
to Isaiah 56:7.

"Doors bear strong symbolism for this theme, because they represent a sense
of welcoming and openness," said Jo Culbertson, a co-chair of the COLA
promotion committee, who said the group is looking for doors that are unique
in color, shape, size or materials, or convey a special message of welcome.
The doors of any kind of churches are OK, but the committee is especially
interested in Presbyterian ones.

The COLA needs high-quality digital images or photographic prints. No
photocopies, negatives or copyrighted images. Email digital images to
COLA@denverga.org, or mail prints to Denver Committee on Local Arrangements,
1710 South Grant Street, Denver, CO 80210. Be sure to include the church's
name and location. The deadline for submission is Feb. 28.
