Division of Overseas Ministry: President

Board affirms ministry of Division of Overseas Ministries president -
In their November meeting, the Division of Overseas Ministries board of
directors passed a resolution affirming the ministry of President, Rev.
Patricia M. Tucker.  Tucker resigned her position effective January 1,
2003.  She served as president since January 1, 1994.

Search begins for new president of Division of Overseas Ministries -
The board of the Division of Overseas Ministries of the Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ) has begun the search for qualified candidates for
the position of president.  The president serves as the executive of
this general unit and also as the co-executive of Global Ministries, the
common witness and work of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
and the United Church of Christ.

Church Extension Adds Leaders

Church transformation leader joins Church Extension staff - One of the
architects of the Disciples discernment process of decision making
serves as new assistant vice president for human and organizational
development of Church Extension. Lori Adams was elected to the position
during the Church Extension Board of Directors mid-November meeting.

Long-time Church Extension consultant promoted to officer - Church
Extension board of directors elected a long-time and valued general
consultant to assistant secretary in their mid-November meeting here.
Luis E. Ferrer, who joined the Church Extension staff in 1993.

Award-winning sales professional to lead Church Extension marketing
team - A Disciples veteran of sales and promotion in the communication
industry has joined Church Extension as director of marketing. William
Petty, with more than two decades of experience in his field, joined the
Church Extension staff Dec. 1.

Week of Compassion Committee Approves Major Commitment

The Week of Compassion Committee, meeting at Saguaro Christian Church
in Tucson, Ariz., November 22-23, approved a major commitment of
$100,000 toward a new Church World Service initiative in Africa.
