American Baptist News Service (Valley Forge, Pa. 1/3/03)--Word has been
received of the death Jan. 1 of Miriam A. Peterson, a longtime staff member
with American Baptist Educational Ministries.  She was 97.

Peterson joined the Board of Education and Publication staff in 1954 as
assistant director of Administration and Leadership Education. During the
next 16 years she held a number of responsibilities within Educational
Ministries, including associate director and program associate for the
Department of Ministry with Adults.

She previously served as director of Christian education for the Pittsburgh
Baptist Association. 

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 335 W. Clark
St., Albert Lea, MN 56007-2505 or to Thorne Crest Retirement Center, 1201
Garfield Ave., Albert Lea, MN 56007.  Condolences may be sent to the family
