LSA conference set for March 20-22

"Fire of Hope for a Changing World" is the theme for this year's annual
conference of Lutheran Services in America (LSA), March 20-22 in San Diego.

Based in Baltimore, LSA is an alliance of The Lutheran Church--Missouri
Synod, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and 280 Lutheran
social-ministry organizations.

The conference is open to anyone with an interest in human-care ministry,
including staff members of Lutheran social-ministry organizations, district
presidents and other church-body executives, and pastors and congregational
leaders.

Keynote speakers include:

*  Peter Brinckerhoff, trainer and consultant to not-for profit
organizations and author of the books "Mission-Based Management," "Financial
Empowerment" and "Mission-Based Marketing";

*  Dr. Duane Larson, president and professor of systematic theology at
Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa;

*  Rev. Larry Stoterau, president of the LCMS Pacific Southwest District;

*  Rev. Matthew Harrison, executive director of LCMS World Relief and Human
Care; and

*  Dr. Rebecca Larson, executive director of the Evangelical Lutheran Church
in America's Division for Church in Society.

Pre-conference sessions will include meetings of the Chaplains Network,
Council of Human Resource Management, Lutheran AIDS Network and LSA
Disability Network.

Breakout sessions will be offered to conference participants on topics such
as partnerships, management, affordable housing, "crisis communication,"
public-policy updates, employee recruitment and retention, long-term care,
refugees and immigrants, volunteers and self-assessment.

The conference also includes LSA's annual meeting and a preview of LSA's
awareness campaign, the premiere showing of a new video and a 5K run/walk.

Registration is $339.  Most meals are included.
