  Update on the Release of the New Archdiocesan Logo

  New York, NY -- The new logo of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America
  was officially launched in January of 2003 and was debuted on the cover of
  the 2003 Yearbook and in the January issue of the Orthodox Observer.
  Since that time, the Archdiocese has been working steadily towards its
  implementation, a collaborative process that involves the various levels
  of its metropolises, archdiocesan offices, institutions, and parishes
  nationwide.

  Already, the Archdiocese is sending out camera-ready digital files of the
  new Archdiocesan seal and new stationery templates to each of its
  metropolises.  A detailed Graphic Standards Manual (GSM) outlining the
  proper usage and implementation of the Archdiocesan seal has accompanied
  this mailing, offering a uniform and consistent presentation to each
  metropolis throughout the Archdiocese.

  Next, the Archdiocesan departments will be provided with digital files of
  the new logo, new stationery, and usage guidelines in order to address
  their specific needs.

  By late April or early May, the Archdiocese will be sending an
  introductory kit of camera-ready digital files of the new Archdiocesan
  seal to parishes.  This introductory kit will contain:

  -A detailed Graphics Standards Manual (GSM) outlining the proper usage and
  implementation of the Archdiocesan seal. There will be a separate GSM
  produced for parishes, institutions, and organizations that will be
  tailored to the unique needs of each.

  -A CD-ROM containing camera-ready copies of the Archdiocesan seal and the
  approved versions of the Archdiocesan seal, including black and white,
  2-color, 4-color, etc.

  -Licensed Macintosh and Windows fonts to compliment letterhead and other
  materials bearing the new logo

  -Templates of parish letterhead

  -Templates of parish business cards

  -A new Archdiocesan flag with the new logo of the Archdiocese.

  Until this introductory kit is received, parishes are not to use the new
  logo and are asked to continue to use the previous Archdiocesan logo. If
  any printing of letterhead or other parish material is needed prior to
  this kit's arrival, parishes are instructed to use the old logo. The full
  implementation of the logo allows for a period of overlap and a phase-out
  period to the end of 2003 for stationery and other printed materials
  bearing the old logo. Archdiocesan institutions and organizations will
  receive introductory materials by June.
