Former LWF Deputy General Secretary Ucko to Work with Global
Network for Children

GENEVA, 7 March 2003 (LWI) - Former Lutheran World Federation
(LWF) Deputy General Secretary, Ms Agneta Ucko, took up a new
position with an interreligious children's aid organization
beginning in February. She is director of the Geneva office of the
"Global Network of Religions for Children" which is being
established in Switzerland. The network was launched by a
Japanese-Buddhist Foundation with headquarters in Tokyo. The
Geneva office is intended to build up closer ties with United
Nations organizations and European Union institutions.

Ucko, LWF Deputy General Secretary since 1996, was responsible,
among other things, for the planning and management of LWF Council
meetings. On the staff of the LWF since 1991, she was formerly
executive Secretary for Human Resources Development in the
Department for Mission and Development. During 1994, she assumed
responsibility for the whole department for several months.

University of Lund, and studied International Relations and
Organizational Development as a postgraduate. She was a teacher in
