The deadline to register for Taiwan's United Christian Track
and Field Meet is drawing near. The event will be held on May
31st at Aletheia University in Tam-sui (Taipei County).
Registrations must be in by the end of April.
On the day of the event, things will begin at 8AM.
Tournaments will be held in basketball, softball, badminton and
ping-pong. Four "interest and amusement" events for larger
groups will include golfing skills and a mass kilometer run.
During the noon hour the university's chapel will present a
pipe organ concert.
Organizers hope this will be a time for Christians from all
over Taiwan to engage in mutual fun, acquaintance, and
perspiration producing activity. Principal sponsorship is from
The National Council of Churches of Taiwan, with help from the
YMCA, the United Methodist Church, the Roman Catholic Church, the
Lutheran Church and the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan.
Participating teams need not belong to one of the sponsoring
organizations to register and participate, but should be
associated with a church or church based agency or school. To
register call Rev. Chiocar at (02) 2363 5282, ext. 258.
