Int'l LLL's 2003 convention
set for July in Peoria, Ill.

Lutherans from more than 50 nations are expected to gather this summer in
Peoria, Ill., as the International Lutheran Laymen's League meets for its
86th annual convention under the theme "Ripe for Harvest," from John 4:35.

Scheduled for July 17-20 at the Peoria Civic Center, the convention this
year will feature a new name and a host of new activities designed to
inspire, empower and equip Christians of all ages. More than 4,000 people
are expected to attend.

The convention, renamed the "Lutheran Hour Ministries 2003 Outreach Expo and
Convention," will offer comedy, music, motivational speakers, workshops,
family seminars, worship and "servant events."

For the first time, the convention will include an arena-size International
Expo to showcase Lutheran Hour Ministry's (LHM) outreach efforts in more
than 50 nations. At the Expo, LHM's worldwide staff will greet visitors and
share stories about their ministries.

The evening of July 18, planned especially for families, will feature
performances by comedian Ken Davis and the Christian rock band "Echelon."

Child psychologist Dr. Kevin Leman and nutritionist David L. Meinz will
speak about "Making Children Mind Without Losing Yours" and "Today's Healthy
Woman," respectively, on July 19.

Other presenters include Honorary Lutheran Hour Speaker Dr. Oswald Hoffmann;
LHM Speaker Rev. Kenneth Klaus; and Phyllis Wallace, host of the syndicated
radio talk show, "Woman to Woman."

Workshops will be offered on topics such as "How to Live a Healthy and Happy
Life in the Lord," "Christian Conflict Management" and "Discovering Islam --
Meeting Muslims -- Sharing Christ."

"God's Grace in Peoria -- a Celebration Event!" will feature more than 2,000
members of local Lutheran congregations, clergy, LHM supporters and guests.

Convention registration is $50 for ages 19 and older; children are free,
except for a nominal charge for activities. Admission to the Ken
Davis/Echelon concert is $10, and $5 for children ages 6-12 (children 5 and
