The Fellowship of the Least Coin movement began during the
Second World War. One Christian woman who saw the war related
suffering of Asian people, including many women and children made
homeless, began the whole thing. Her intent was to incite prayers
and offerings for peace and reconciliation.
Which brings us to Iraq today. The Women's Ministry Committee
of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan
(PCT) urges sisters in Christ to pray for peace and to do all
they can to see to an early end to this war.
Women's Ministry Secretary Lin Niling says, "All of us can,
like the woman in the Gospel who gave her least coin, give
ourselves in repentance and in calling to God for renewal and
peace.	We can call on God to lovingly and graciously forgive all
people. And each day we can make small donations, which the
church will send through the World Council of Churches, for the
welfare of people around the world and to carry out the work of
the gospel."
In the year 2003, projects funded through the Fellowship of
the Least Coin are in progress in Africa, Asia, the Middle East,
Europe, Latin America and the Pacific.
Churches in Taiwan that want to know more about these projects
and how to donate to them can contact the PCT General Assembly
Office of Women's Ministries.
